MARKETING COORDINATOR

The Marketing Coordinator, reporting directly to the Public Information and Communications Officer, is responsible for coordinating the Chatham Area Transit Authority’s marketing and business development strategies. This role involves overseeing the creation and execution of marketing campaigns, enhancing brand visibility, and identifying growth opportunities to increase ridership and pass revenue. The coordinator will work closely with various departments to ensure a cohesive approach to market outreach and community engagement.

Essential Job Functions: Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop strategic marketing plans that align with the organization’s objectives and market opportunities.

Oversee the execution of marketing campaigns, specifically the FY2026 Strategic Business Marketing Plan, ensuring goals of increasing brand awareness and ridership are met.

Identify and assess new opportunities for business growth, including partnerships, sponsorships, pass program development and implementation, and new market segments.

Develop and maintain relationships with business partners, stakeholders, and the community .

Brand Management: Ensure that all marketing, route schedules, and promotional materials adhere to Chatham Area Transit Authority’s brand guidelines.

Monitor and analyze market trends to keep the brand competitive and relevant.

Reporting and Analytics: Utilize analytics tools to track campaign performance and market dynamics, adjusting strategies as needed based on data insights.

Prepare regular reports as required on marketing activities and results, providing insights and recommendations to the Public Information and Communications Officer.

Community Engagement: Enhance public relations by coordinating ideas cross departments for technical and environmental design concepts for marketing related materials, fare media, signage, customer, and community outreach programs.

Represent Chatham Area Transit Authority at community events and conferences as approved .

Assist in multimedia communications as needed.

Supervisory & Operational Authority: • This position will have direct report(s) as assigned by the [insert department Chief]; will be responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities including planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Compliance: • Responsible for completing all mandatory training classes.

• Responsible for reviewing and complying with all CAT policies, procedures and directives.

• Responsible for ensuring all direct reports have taken all mandatory training.

Position Profile:

Education & Experience:

The preferred candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business administration, or related field with three (3) years of marketing, sales, business development, or community relations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Prior experience with a public transit agency is a plus.

The candidate will also have strong leadership skills, excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

• Skilled in written and spoken communication of administrative and technical data with strong grammar/spelling knowledge of sufficient to screen own work as well as that of others; must be able to create and develop presentations.

• Experience with AP Style writing, Canva, Microsoft Office, word processing, and other modern office equipment

• Establishing priorities, multi-tasking, organizing work, and managing projects.

• Preparing and distributing promotional materials

• Initiating and maintaining community and business contacts

• Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and the general public that are sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

• Experience with social media platforms, and community relations

• English required, bilingual a plus.
