SUMMARY:

CAT is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as student interns for Under the direction of various Department Chiefs to manage the delivery of key services for CAT’s departments/divisions that include, but are not limited to, Executive, Finance and Operations Departments. Interns will aid and support Chatham Area Transit staff with administrative support tasks. This opportunity is available to those currently pursuing or having recently completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Accounting or Economics.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior executives, gaining valuable direct experience in corporate decision-making, strategic planning, and daily operations. Full-time and part-time hours are available. The internship is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership and business acumen in a dynamic and challenging environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Executive Intern Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.

• Assist executives with calendar management, scheduling, and meeting coordination.

• Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations.

• Support executives on high-priority initiatives and cross-functional projects.

• Conduct research and prepare data-driven reports to inform strategic decisions.

• Collaborate with various departments to ensure project milestones are met.

• Mentorship from experienced professionals

Finance Intern Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite tools.

• Basic knowledge of financial principles and accounting practices.

• Analytical mindset with strong critical thinking skills. Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the internship

• Assist in analyzing financial data and preparing reports for management.

• Support budgeting and forecasting activities by gathering and organizing data.

• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation.

• Provide support to the finance department with projects

Operations:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

• Analyze existing operational workflows and identify areas for improvement.

• Assist in developing and implementing streamlined processes to enhance efficiency.

• Gather, organize, and analyze operational data to generate insights.

• Assist in developing and implementing streamlined processes to enhance efficiency.

• Support cross-functional teams in executing operational projects and initiatives.

• Monitor project timelines and ensure tasks are completed on schedule.

Compliance:

• Responsible for completing all mandatory training classes.

• Responsible for reviewing and complying with all CAT policies, procedures and directives.

Education & Experience:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Accounting or Economics.

• Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 (for undergraduate program) or 3.0 (for graduate program)

• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007/2010 or 2013

• Basic understanding of a Microsoft Windows environment is helpful

• Good understanding of computer hardware

• Basic understanding of how computer networks work
